Obituary

Russell Victor Ross, 56, died April 6, 2022 of a massive stroke. Russell was very devoted to his family, his church, and the Georgia Bulldogs. Russell graduated from UGA in 1993 continuing to attend football games as an alumni with his lifelong friends and lived to see the Bulldawgs win the National Championship this year. He was a devout runner and ran the Peachtree Road Race for many years and he really loved playing golf which he did often with his dad until his dad's passing in 2013. Russell worked at Ross Memorial Health Care Center for over 30 years and had been a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for many years. He was in the Knights of Columbus and often volunteered his time to serving his community. As a young teen, Russell was a member of the Little General Cloggers and even had a chance to dance at the Grand Ole Opry. Russell attended Blackwell Elementary, J.J. Daniell Middle School, and Sprayberry High School. Russell leaves behind his mother, Teresa Ross (of Marietta) who misses him beyond words, 4 siblings, brother, Jimmie (wife Sheila, of Woodstock), sister Martha (husband Dan, of Marietta), brothers Eddie (of Marietta), and David (wife Julie, of Marietta) along with nephews, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 2:00pm-6:00pm at Marietta Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 1:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
