Shirley Ann Nelson, 82, of Marietta, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019.  A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 29 ^th in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with Rev. Hayward Bass officiating.

Shirley was originally from Lindale, Georgia she moved to Marietta in 1957.  Shirley loved to laugh and pick on the ones she loved.  During the years her children were at home she always welcomed all the kids into her home and got right in there with them, as she was still young at heart.

Surviving is her husband, Harry Nelson; daughters; Jenny (Donnie) LeSesne, Traci (Dog: Penny); Sons, Lonnie (Dorothy) Nelson, Donnie (Susan) Nelson; grandchildren, Justin (Alexandra) LeSesne, Meleeza Hall (fiancé, Cameron Watts), Sam Butler; great-granddaughter, Riley; sister, Joyce Parker; nieces and nephews also, survive.  She is predeceased by her parents, Simon and Maude (Rogers) Shelley; sisters, Doris Carney, Dorothy Weathington and brother, William (Bobby) Shelley.
