Stan Kowal was considered by most as a man of predictability and routine, but it was in that predictably that he found the most joy, appreciating the simple things life has to offer. He was a bodybuilder and fitness enthusiast, diehard University of Michigan football fan, dedicated worker, classic movie buff and dessert connoisseur (especially enjoying a good Stollen). A husband of more than 50 years to Judy Kowal, now deceased, and father to Jennifer Kowal and Melanie De Gennaro, he enjoyed family trips to the beach and Disney World when his children were young, and cruises with Judy later in life. He enjoyed visiting his siblings – Rich, Jerry, Helen and Joanne – and their families in Michigan each year and always felt strong ties to the place he was born. He was constantly amazed and entertained by his seven-year-old granddaughter Sveva, Melanie's child, and in his final years was happiest spending time with Jennifer, her husband Tony Burdett, Melanie and Sveva.
