Riddle
Sep 2, 1944 — Jan 31, 2023
Stephen Kermit Riddle, aged 78, was born in Martinsville, Virginia on September 2, 1944. He went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, with wife Laura Riddle by his side.
Stephen affectionately known as Steve was born to parents, Kate Folkes Riddle and James Kermit Riddle. He was one of five siblings. Steve attended Martinsville High School and after graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy as a Linguist. While serving, he played a vital role in serving his country. Steve met the love of his life, Laura Beckford to whom he always showed special treatment befitting for a queen. They were joined in holy matrimony and their union produced three wonderful, amazing children: Joshua, Daniel, and Elizabeth Riddle.
Steve was known for his love and devotion to God and His word. His love for the lost took him on the mission field to India, Africa, and the Philippines, where he preached the gospel, and many received the Lord. His ministry was also mentoring teens to love and respect the Lord. Steve wrote and shared daily devotionals with friends and family and would speak about Christ's love to anyone who would listen. Being a patriot, he demonstrated his love through his devotion to his country.
His career was deeply rooted in the furniture industry where he worked as Vice President of Sales for several furniture companies. He was blessed with the gift of salesmanship which always resulted in major growth in sales and increase in profit margins.
Left to honor Steve and remember him are his wife of 18 years, Laura Riddle, and their three children. All his children in order of birth are: David Roach, Jason Carson, Samuel Riddle, Joseph Riddle and spouse Lauren Riddle, Andrew Spahr and spouse Allen Spahr, Joshua Riddle, Daniel Riddle, and Elizabeth Riddle. He is also survived by his brother & sister-in-law: James and Linda Riddle, sisters & brother-in-law: Margaret and Bert Kirby, Linda Riddle, and Kathryn Reid, grandchildren: Ethan Riddle, Kingston Riddle, Cruz Riddle and Goldie Riddle, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Steve will be remembered as a faithful man of God, faithful husband, devoted father, and patriot to his country. He will be remembered as a beacon of light, shining in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. His memory and legacy will live on, in and through the lives of those who love him.
