Susan Coughtry passed away on September 13, 2021. Predeceased by parents Arlene and Harold Kantor, brothers Murray and Marty Kantor. Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Richard Coughtry and her loving family, Children: Scott (Nina) Coughtry, Dr. Brendon (Andrea) Coughtry, Stacey (Jason) Frankel. Grandchildren: Max, Ridge and Layton Coughtry; Griffin, Spencer, Simon and Chloe Frankel, Sister: Barbara (David) Grossman and many nieces and nephews that were very special to her. Susan was born in Rochester, NY and was a graduate of Alfred State College where she met her husband, Richard. Susan's most precious accomplishment was her family. She adored being with her children and grand-children and hosting family dinners. She was an avid Mah jongg player and loved card games. She worked as a pre-school teacher at the Jewish Community Center in Marietta where she made so many lasting friends. She also was an entrepreneur and known as Susie Sparkles selling her jewelry.
The family would like to extend thanks to the many friends that have lent support over the past many months while Susan fought her courageous battle. The love and kind words are truly appreciated.
A celebration of Susan's life will be held at the Marietta Funeral Home on Saturday, September 18 at 2:30 PM , 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta GA 30066. For those unable to attend the service will be live streamed through our Facebook page and can be found here
