Virginia (Tut) Howard Sappington passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024 at the age of 92.  Up until the end, Virginia maintained her grace, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends and timeless/fierce spirit.

Full of love, laughter and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her.  She was extremely generous and would do anything for anyone.  She taught elementary school and kindergarten for many years in Atlanta, and was a rental agent in her beloved Aiken, South Carolina.

Although traveling minimally, Virginia could authentically cook anything from every corner of the world.  Her passion in the kitchen and culinary skills were effortless and will be forever remembered.

Faith was a big component of her life, and you could find her reading the bible every morning before starting her day.  We know she will be welcomed in heaven, reuniting with loving family members and friends.

Virginia is survived by her daughter Lynda (Reynolds) Brown; son, Howard (Marcela) Sappington; sister, Jane Faucett; grandsons, Rey (Eliana) Brown, Zachary (Emily) Brown; great-grandson, Jonah Brown, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00am at Marietta Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and visitors for one hour prior to the service.
