Walter Harris Davis, 91, of Marietta, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Graveside services will be Saturday at 2pm at Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville, GA with Rev. Michael Hunt officiating.  The family will receive friends at Marietta Funeral Home on Saturday from 10am-12pm prior to the service.

Mr. Davis was a native of Telfair County, GA where he lived on a farm with his parents James and Thelma Davis. He retired from Lockheed Martin as a machinist after over 40 years of service and he was also a United States Air Force veteran. He was affectionately known as "The Lawnmower Guy" to many people as he repaired numerous lawnmowers and equipment over the years. He was very passionate about flying for over 50 years, especially in his personal aircraft. Mr. Davis also loved deer hunting and telling long stories to his family and friends with his dry sense of humor. He is preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters Marlene Belcher from Adairsville and Carolyn Davis Copelan of Marietta; grandchildren, John Copelan, Ed Copelan and Jennifer Forsythe; great grandchildren, Chase, Lynleigh and Conway Copelan and Emma and Brooklyn Forsythe; and sister, Vergie McCool of Aiken, SC.
