William Marrion Hughes, 91, of Marietta, passed away on December 27, 2023.

He left behind his wife of 68 years, Martha Hartness Hughes, and 3 children, Bill Hughes, Kim Hamby (Keith), Jamie Hobbs (John), 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great- great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, William Marrion Hughes Sr., his mother Millie Hughes Spillar, sister Evelyn Hughes Alexander, and great grandson William Bradley Hamby.

He graduated from Marietta High School in 1952. He was a 4-year letterman in both football and track. He was inducted into the Marietta High School City Hall of Fame in October 2010 as a member of the 1950 Boys Varsity State Championship Track Team. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 1990 after a 38 year career. He has been an active member of the Kennesaw Mountain Shrine Club since 1991.

The family will receive friends and visitors on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Marietta Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shriner's Children's Hospital .
