Yoby B. Whipp went to be with her heavenly father on May 28,2024.

Yoby was born in Columbiana, Alabama, December 13,1942, daughter of the late Hugh M. Sims and Lillie Mae (Bozeman) Sims. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Don L. Whipp and her brothers Hugh Sims Jr, Wayne Sims, and sister Shirley Dees.

She attended The University of Alabama where she was a cheerleader. She and her family were dedicated Alabama football fans. She spent most of her professional career in sales, public relations and motivational speaking. She enjoyed interior design and made a career later as a designer. Hosting parties were a favorite activity and she did it often after moving to The Villages, FL with her husband Don. They enjoyed traveling to many destinations while they were married. They also were members of New Covenant Methodist Church in the Villages, where they enjoyed being involved.

She is survived by her daughter, Djuana (Eddie) Holtman, and son Jimmy (Melonie) Whittemore, who all live in Adairsville, GA, and son Perry Whittemore who lives in Dallas, GA. Survivors also include grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at New Covenant Methodist Church on September 30,2024 at 11:00 at the church's columbarium.
